AhlulBayt News Agency: Swedish activist Greta Thunberg has strongly defended her participation in a recent humanitarian mission to Gaza, following her deportation by Israeli authorities after a naval interception.
Thunberg, who was among 12 international volunteers aboard the vessel *Maldeen*, spoke to reporters on Tuesday upon landing in Paris. She stated that their group had acted lawfully, sailing in international waters with the sole aim of delivering aid to Palestinians in Gaza.
“We were 12 peaceful volunteers aboard a civilian ship carrying humanitarian aid. We were in international waters and did not violate any laws,” she said, calling the Israeli Navy’s action “a kidnapping.”
According to IRNA, Thunberg criticized Israel’s ongoing blockade of Gaza, describing it as a “systematic violation of international law” and accused the regime of obstructing humanitarian aid from reaching a population facing starvation.
She also addressed skepticism over the quantity of aid aboard *Maldeen*, explaining that a larger cargo ship meant to transport more substantial supplies had been disabled in the Mediterranean last month by Israeli drones.
